WEEK 1
BLOG
October 14th, 2014
Today we talked about web page construction, with weebly.com, Mr. Parker showed us keystoneschoolarthouse.comwe talked about how we are going to be graded.
We did a scope and sequence. Mr. Parkers email is [email protected]
Today seemed really fun. I am looking forward to the next 9 weeks.
October 15th, 2014
Today we learned how to work photoshop and we learned about layers, we used the brush tool and found out what it does. we were told a story about a boy who used way too many megapixels and shut a whole row of computers down. We also made a " first creation".
October 16th, 2014
Control backspace is a control to fill in a color. Control z will undo the last action. We learned that control z goes back only one step, and that if we wanted to go back multiple steps we had to do a certain process.
October 17th, 2014
We opened up differnet projescts. We used different commands such as Ctrl+d will get rid of the "dancing ants", we learned how to copy and paste, and we also learned how to merge different layers with one another. We learned that we can pull up the grid by going view, show then grid, so we can make squares that are actual squares. I ran into a wall and Mr. Parker helped me through it, I did not feel bad after because he says it happens to everybody.

WEEK 2
October 20th, 2014
Today we worked on learning how to do frank stella like pictures. I encountered a problem with using the layers and the check mark once again, once mr parker broke it down for me I realized my mistake and will hopefully not make that mistake again the smudge tool is on the "raindrop" and the strength can be changed.
The eyedropper tool I am supposing that it works exactly like an eyedropper that we use in everyday life.
October 21, 2014
Today we learned how to make a brush. First you use the rectangular marquee tool to select your brush, then you select it and make it a brush. then you make it smaller or bigger, accordingly to the picture you want to use your brush on. and then apply your brush to the photo.
Oct 22,
we learned how to make bling today, and it was fun until we had to do it from memory. I completely failed and forgot the most important part, the shadow. I hope to learn how to do it tommorow, and improve my moemory.
Oct 23. Bling walkthrough
1. new document with a 7 by 5 inches screen.
2. pick a background color.
3. TYPE YOUR TEXT, AND FIT IT TO THE SCREEN.
4. PUT AN INNER GLOW ON YOUR PIECE.
5. THEN DO A BEVEL AND EMBOSS.
Oct 24
ctrl+Alt+shift will turn your adobe photoshop back to default settings.wind filter= filters+stylize and it will be the last on the drop down menu. we had to do our own "cold" photo, and i decided to do mine with a squid.
We had to use a wind filter. I ran into a problem rotating my word, but I was able to overcome it when mr parker told me to use the move tool. We have to tilt it 90 degrees when we add it. then tilt it back in place when we are done. and then we had to flip it vertically. after, we had to erase the word to make it look like it was a reflection in the water.

WEEK 4
Oct, 27
To rasterize go to layer and about half way there will be rafsd
Oct 28,
Today we are making Gifs, so we had to split the screen in half using the rectangular marquee tool, then we made five copy layers( i have to say it was quite fun pressing j so many times.) then we made"fire" using the smudge tool. then we put a litle bit of a fire color on the "flames."
We went to windows, added a timeline, then we hit the butoon "create video timeline" went to you frame animation ( bottom left hand corner with three squares.) We learned how to use the frame button, which adds frames, we learned how to speed up the process of the switch of the frames, and we learned how to use the tween button, I personally did not like how mine turned out. You must save for web when saving gifs!!!
Oct 30
Create a textbox, for out line
create new layer, select a brush, with appropriate size and brush,
select pen tool on new layer
right click the letter,
stroke the path, delelte the path , delete the textbox

WEEK 5
Nov. 3, 2014
to create a ring like pattern you must use the eliptical tool. to circle the earth. we made the selction a path after going to go to layer tab. then type a text around the path. control h will hid the path, transform it, rotate it and erase it and you will have rings of text around your earth. the character pallet will be at the windows drop down. It's the one that says windows.
NOV, 4 2014
Pattern overlay is in layer styles. If you want to load a brush you download it, then go to brush then press load brush, its the one that says load brush. then load it. brush files are .ABR. it will only save if you load it on an ABR file. to create a work path you have to be on the text box, then right click near the edge of onme of the letters
Nov 5. 2014
today we did independent practices of stitches

NOV 6.
Today we worked on our nine week projects all period long, because Mr parker was gone. I think I did pretty well on my nine week project, but I will have to be detailed on my write up. Or else he will take points off. You can make a work path by dropping anchor points around what you want to select.
NOV 7, 2014
Today I continued yesterdays work of working on my nine week projects.
WEEK 6
Nov 11., 2014
Today we worked on teracotta warriors and I am having trouble figuring out how to make the rows over lap. I am pretty sure It has something to do with the background. I will spend both my free periods working on this if this is what it takes to prove myself adequate for human society.
Nov. 12
Today I had to make up my time in the library during lunch, and upon thinking to myself, I was able to come to a conclusion that all i needed to do was delete the background with the magic eraser tool. So heres how to make a terracotta army.
1. open a picture
2. use the pen tool to outline the picture then right click to make a selection.
3. copy the selection and paste it into a new document
4. paste pictures to create a row of the pictures EACH ON DIFFERENT LAYERS
5. merge the layers after one row
6. use the magic eraser tool to take away the background
7. duplicate the layer and move the figures slightly to give off the effect of a row of warriors
8. then repeat until you have an army.

CLIPPING MASK
fIRST WE TOOK AN IMAGE OF opi,
second we copied it,
created new layer filled with white,
created a text box, we adjusted the text in size as well as width and space in between,
order of layer one then go photograph textbox, white layer. copy of the photo on top. The stencil,( clipping mask on layer drop down menu), goes on the top copy layer of the photograph.

NOV. 13, 2014
Today we are doing a little bit more with a clipping mask. I can see why Mr. Parker is making us do ti so much, because at first all of the layer order and things seem difficult, but when you do it several times, you start to develop muscle memory. But anyways, To make a clipping mask image with different images behind each layer. First you get a picture of what you want. Then make a text box, type a single letter. then adjust the text box size the the letter, then press control+t to adjust size of the letter. After that you put the text layer under the image, go to the layer drop down menu+create clipping mask. Then you should have a single letter over your desired image. After that what I did was made a work path around the letter with anchorpoints, selected it, copied it, then pasted onto the other image with a letter with a different image behind it. After that you should be able to repeat until you have a word or words with different images behind every letter. My classmate Evan created two excellent images like this, this is the link.
NOV 14, 2014
We finished up our clipping mask projects today. We finished up all of our photos with each letter having a different picture behind it.
NOV 17, 2014
We continued our ipod commercials today, we had to cut things out using the pen tool, select them, fill them in and then add text pertaining to the picture or situation that was happening. To fill something, you have to select it using the pen tool, go to the edit drop down menu, and click FILL, and fill it in with black so it looks like a silhouette.
NOV 18, 2014
Today we worked on our ipod commercials, all is well so far. I am having trouble with nothing.
NOV. 19, 2014
Today I finished my i pod commercial, an I think that I did a pretty good job. To create a lens flare, you go to the filter drop down menu, then you go to render, and then choose lens flare, you can adjust the size and choose where it is. I made mine come out of an eye, making it look like the eye had a little sparkle.
WEEK 7
DEC 1, 2014
We selected a picture of ourselves, put it on a white layer and then went to image> adjustments> desaturate, and what happened was, the photo turned into a black and white like picture.
On the Andy warhol project, we used the highlights midtones and shadows, the transparencies we used were white, 50% grey and black. Tommorow I will figure out the trouble I am having with the highlight layer.

Dec 2. 2014
Today I created many andy warhol like pictures of my sexy self. To create, you de saturate, then selct with highglights, midtones and shadows. You have to pick contrast colors in order for the pictures to look good. I picked the college LSU's colors with the Heart throb photos of my self. You probably shouldnt move the dial when crating highlughts shadows and midtone because it does not turn out well.
The successes I had to today, I used bevel and imboss, outer glow, and inner glow. A brick wall for me was when my shadow layer wasnt looking good. Like I said, it was because I had messed with the dial
DON'T MESS WITH THE DIAL!!!

Dec 3, 2014
Today I finished up my last Andy warhol picture, and it was quite beautiful. Well they still are. AGAIN DONT MESS WITH THE DIAL WHILE MAKING HIGHLIGHTS, MIDTONES AND SHADOWS.
Dec 4, 2104
Today we learned how to use gradient with our backgrounds, and we are working on making a photo iof our selves witjh different layers of the lighting. To use the Gradient tool you go to the paint bucket tool on the Left tool bar click it, and gradient tool should be the first option, it will look like a rectangle.
Dec 5, 2014
Today we continued our work with posterization and I created a fabulous piece with a creepy yet seductive poem, I quite enjoy using this gradient tool, very fun.
WEEK 8
Dec 8, 2014
Today we learned how to do banksy photos and personally i like the cut out tool better because i think the after effect looks quite better. In my peice it is saying how easy it is to acheive things when you are considered pretty or flawless in society, you get more thing you want. The man carrying the box that says goals is flawless, whereas the short, fat man is struggling to get to the box, and his tears and sweat is turning into blood and anger.
Dec 9, 2014
Today I worked on my first portfolio project, it is an amazing gif consisting of america and george bush and obama.
DEC 10, 2014
TODAY WE WORKED ON THE LIQUIFY PROJECT, TO CREATE ONE, YOU GO TO FILTER, THEN IN THE FIRST SECTION THERE SHOULD BE A THING THAT SAYS LIQUIFY, YOU CLICK ON THAT AND YOU CAN DO THINGS LIKE PUCKER AND BLOAT YOUR PIECE. I CREATED A BEAUTIFUL PIECE WITH MY HEAD LOOKING LIKE A CARICATURE, IT IS QUITE AMAZING.
DEC 11, 2014
Today we got the oppurtunity to finish up our write-ups for our nine week projects, fill in our blogs, and work on our portfolio, I am sad that the nine weeks is ending, i hope to not lose my memory of everything we've learned so far, but hey that's what my blog is for. RIGHT?
